The Bible

God’s Holy Word

The Bible is God's Holy Word given to us so that we might know, love and serve God.

The Bible does not just contain the word of God, the Bible IS the word of God. Jesus stated that ever jot and tittle was important and would be fulfilled. A tittle is the smallest letter in the Hebrew language and a jot is just a small mark of a letter. So what Jesus was saying is that every word down to the smallest letter and accent marks is God's word.
When studying God's word there are two things that are important. First, you need to use a translation that used the correct original text (Textus Receptus and Masoretic text). Second, the translation needs to be a word for word translation. If these two true things are not true about the translation you are studying then the translation may have change the content or left out important words. God does not need man to try and make his word better or easier to understand. The King James Version (KJV) is the only English translation that I know of that meets both criteria.
If you have a good translation that meets the two criteria above, then there is one other thing to keep in mind. The Bible from Genesis to Revelation is a conversation from God to man. If we only read a part of it, then we can sometimes misunderstand the whole.
